Preservation Fund

 A CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION.

Georgetown Heritage Society announces the creation of the Preservation Grant Program to assist with costs of preserving historic structures in the greater Georgetown area.  Eligible structures will be those listed in the City of Georgetown’s 2007 Historic Resource Survey, as amended.

“For 30 plus years, GHS has promoted interest in Georgetown’s heritage – its historic buildings and sites and the people associated with them -- through advocacy, educational programs, home tours, publications and, of course, assisting with the relocation and operation of the Grace Heritage Center,” says GHS President Susan Firth.  “Now it is time to move to a new level of support, gathering resources needed to help preserve the structural integrity of historical and architectural treasures that make our community unique.”

GHS has established a Preservation Fund to be used exclusively for preservation efforts.  A fundraising campaign has begun that will supplement monies from ongoing GHS activities such as Grace Heritage Center rentals and the annual Holiday Home Tour in historic Georgetown.  The Preservation Fund will benefit the community with future preservation activities approved by the GHS Board of Directors.

All contributions are welcome! Donations of $1000 or more made by December 31, 2015 will be Charter Donors of the Fund and receive special recognition.

Grant Program Applications will be accepted January 7 until 4:00
pm CST February 18, 2016.  Awards will be announced April 7, 2016.
